Oil seal material

Common materials for oil seals are: nitrile butadiene rubber NBR, hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber HNBR, acrylic rubber ACM, silicone rubber VMQ, fluororubber FKM, ethylene-propylene rubber EPDM, styrene butadiene rubber SBR, polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE, fiber. When selecting the material of the oil seal, it is necessary to consider the compatibility of the material to the working medium, the adaptability to the working temperature range and the ability of the lip to follow the rotating shaft when rotating at high speed. Generally, the temperature of the lip edge of the oil seal is 20~50℃ higher than the temperature of the working medium, and attention should be paid to the selection of oil seal materials. The working range of the oil seal is related to the material used in the oil seal, which is -40~125℃ when the material is butadiene rubber (NBR), -25~140℃ when the hydrogenated nitrile rubber HNBR, -25~150℃ when the acrylic rubber ACM, -60~225℃ when the silicone rubber VMQ, and -20~250℃ when the fluorine rubber FKM. Ethylene propylene rubber EPDM -40~125℃, styrene butadiene rubber SBR -45~100℃, polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE -65~260℃, fiber -50~160℃.
